Benkennie Chic was beaten two lengths into fourth place at Wentworth Park last Saturday but the Peter Mantach-trained bitch was a certainty beaten and should make amends in Wednesday night's 520m Ladbrokes Multimaker Stakes at headquarters.
Benkennie Chic is well positioned in box two as she has won five of her 11 starts from the two inside draws.
Last week she exited box 6 and after leading narrowly to the back straight, she was severely hampered by Kiarni Tiger, who had come from box one and was a close second, hugging the rails.
During the bumping duel between Kiarni Tiger and Benkennie Chic, another greyhound, Vouchers, found the rails and after receiving a dream run along the inside hit the front on the home turn and won.
"Benkennie Chic tried desperately to get to the fence but Kiarni Tiger just wouldn't let her,'' trainer Mantach said.
"I had Benkennie Chic checked over on Sunday and there is not a thing wrong with her.
"What is pleasing is that she has been coming out of the boxes better at her past few starts.''
While Ketakey, a brilliant beginner, has box one, Benkennie Chic looks poised to be sitting behind that greyhound on the back straight and is likely to finish too strongly.
Outstanding Hunter Valley sprinter Connie's Boy makes his keenly anticipated Wentworth Park debut in Wednesday night's second event, a 520m fifth grade.
Connie's Boy has compiled an outstanding record on provincial tracks, notching six wins and four placings from just 10 starts.
The dog has not raced beyond 400m but trainer Peter Honnery is convinced Connie's Boy will have no trouble seeing out a solid 520m at WP.
"His problem is that he is not a flash beginner but Connie's Boy won't have any bother getting the 520 metres,'' Honnery said.
"I brought him to Sydney last week to trial him at Wenty and he went very well.
"My dog has box three but I have a healthy respect for Darryl Wilson's dog Destry, who has box four.
"Destry has run 29.74 at LADBROKES GARDENS so has plenty of ability.''
Wednesday night's best bet looms as Cawbourne Madox, who has box two in the WP On Facebook Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.
Cawbourne Madox is a model of consistency and his past eight starts have yielded a Wentworth Park win and six placings.
Last Friday night Cawbourne Madox chased home Good Odds Buddy in course record time in the Ladbrokes Graeme Hull Memorial Cup final at Wagga.

After beginning cleanly from box one, Cawbourne Madox was beaten for early pace and was a distant third entering the back straight.
He ran home strongly, sailing past Good Odds Meghan, minor placegetter in the group 3 Ladies Bracelet final at Wentworth Park on May 11, over the concluding stages.
Considering the winner, Good Odds Buddy, posted far and away the quickest time ever recorded at Wagga, Cawbourne Madox was gallant in defeat and should relish the drop to fifth grade company on Wednesday.
Gina Spaghetti, who was skittled trying to reach the rails from box six when third at Wentworth Park last Wednesday, looks good value from box one in Wednesday's opening race, a 520m fifth grade.
Gina Spaghetti (pictured) will be wearing the red rug for the first time in six starts but is a Wentworth Park winner, having scored there in a handy 30.30 from an unsuitable box seven draw in April.
She has a great draw on Wednesday as Esther's Star, in box two, is a wide runner who should ensure Gina Spaghetti gets plenty of room to move.
