Ladies Bracelet
Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg winner Zipping Bailey made it three wins in successive weeks at Wentworth Park with a blistering victory in the heats of the Group 3 Evans & Son Jewellers Ladies Bracelet last Saturday night.
The Jason MACKAY-trained sprinter posted personal best figures of 29.59s, powering to the lead on the top turn and racing away (posting 11.52s for her last sectional) for an impressive win over Zombie.
Zipping Bailey is looking to following in the footsteps of her dam Zipping Willow, who won the Ladies Bracelet 2014. MACKAY also landed the feature with Zipping Lilly in 2016.
Other heat winners on Saturday were Frank Hurst’s promising bitch Good Odds Meghan, who defeating a fast finishing Princess Nala in 29.86s, Another Grey for Warren and Jill Harper in 29.98s, and Brad Field’s exciting type Sunrise Flame in 29.87s, edging out Little Jebrynah in a thrilling finish.

Bob Payne Sprint
The girls have the Ladies Bracelet and the boys have the Group 3 Bob Payne Sprint, and time honours were shared between Jamella Jet and Slingshot Hammer, each winning their heats in 29.64s.
Jamella Jet was most impressive for Adam and Andrew Crouch, the recent Group 3 Ambrosoli winner powering to the line in 29.64s to defeat Zipping Falcon by 4 ¾ lengths.
Slingshot Hammer was equally impressive taking out his qualifier over Good Odds Harada on what was a big night for Victorian trainer Rob Camilleri, who also landed the Nowra Puppy Classic at Nowra with Zipping Leroy.
Other heat winners were Tap Out Dusty for Rod Metselaar in a gritty 29.88s, and the ever-consistent galloper Sunburnt Highway for Judy Richardson in 29.79s.

Nowra Puppy Classic
It was a night to remember for trainer Robert Camilleri, his partner Deb Coleman and her children, as Zipping Leroy took out the $25,000 to the winner Nowra Puppy Classic on Saturday night.
Deb once worked at the Nowra club and her children would be a fixture, carrying those signs bearing the names of the feature event finalists. On Saturday, it was those children, boxing two of the finalists for the Classic, and Kayla-Jane Coleman was the successful handler of Zipping Leroy.
“It was a bit of a sentimental story for us this race on Saturday night,” Deb’s partner Robert Camilleri explained. “Deb comes from NSW and she worked at Nowra for a long time and her children used to go out holding the signs up in front of the dogs, and now, her children handle the dogs in these races and their kids are the ones coming out with the signs.
“On Saturday night Ricky and Kayla stayed at Nowra to look after the dogs there and Deb took off to Wentworth Park (where the couple had Slingshot Hammer engaged in the heats of the Group 3 Bob Payne).”

Richmond Riches
While Wentworth Park will host the finals of two the Group 3 races on Saturday, before we hit the weekend the spotlight will shine upon Richmond as the club stages its heats of the Richmond Riches series.
The series, available to greyhounds who went through the club’s Puppy Auction in November 2017, will culminate with a $40,000 to the winner final on May 24.
Heats of the series will be drawn on Tuesday.

Country Cups
This Sunday will see the heats of the Muswellbrook Cup staged and Wagga Wagga’s Graeme Hull Memorial Cup follows with heats next week.
It’s that time of year where both TAB and Non-TAB tracks are hosting their feature events.

Maitland Adoption Day
It was a tremendously successful National Adoption Day at Wentworth Park last Sunday week, and we will be looking to replicate some of that success in finding new homes for dogs when GAPNSW host an Adoption Day at Maitland Racetrack this Saturday, May 11, and just as the case was at National Adoption Day, it will cost just $75 to give a dog a new home on Saturday.
Final numbers are still being confirmed, but there will be a large number and variety of greyhounds available to choose from.
