Great run continues for Williams with city winner

Goulburn chef Aaron Williams and his sister Kristen showed keen judgment when they paid just $1600 for the three months old puppy which races as Cee Me Explode and who won at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Williams, 28, has been enjoying a wonderful run training his three dog team and Cee Me Explode's all the way win last Saturday took her record to six wins and six placings from 19 starts.

Manny Mac gave him a shot at winning a double but after leading to the catching pen she got "tangled up'' with the eventual winner, the wide running Telegraph Road, and finished a distant second.

Prior to that race Manny Mac had been placed at her only Wentworth Park outing and had scored two wins and six placings from 17 provincial starts.

Knock About, the other member of hobby trainer Williams' team, has had 48 starts for 13 wins and a dozen placings.

"Myself and a couple of mates bought a pup seven or eight years ago and I've been keen on greyhound racing ever since,'' Aaron Williams said.

"I started training them myself a few years back but Kristen and I bought Cee Me Explode from a breeder in South Australia.

"What caught our eye was that her dam Cee Me Burst not only had a good winning strike rate on the track, but more so that she was a litter sister to Smart Missile.''

Smart Missile (pictured) won 12 of 26 races and was a track record holder for leading trainer Jason Mackay.
