Uplift in wagering figures on Golden Easter Egg

Not only was it fast racing, with, for the first time in history all 10 heat winners of the Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg breaking the 30s barrier, but the competitive racing last Saturday night also proved to be very attractive to punters.

Wagering figures for the evening from corporate bookmakers and Tabcorp were extremely positive for the sport.

In overall wagering there was a 9.6 per cent Year-on-Year increase on the night, and with fixed odds wagering there was a significant uplift, by 14.3 per cent.

GRSNW are hopeful more competitive, Group 1 racing will continue the trend this Saturday night.

To help facilitate punters again this week, GRNSW have programmed the four semi-finals of the Golden Easter Egg as races one to four on the card, with the events making up legs of the Early Quaddie.

The night is one of the best nights of greyhound racing in Sydney, and will also feature two heats of the Group 1 Association Cup over the 720m trip featuring superstar stayer Tornado Tears, and four heats of the Group 3 Ultra Sense.

The box draw for the Golden Easter Egg and Association Cup will be conducted on course after race six on Saturday night and will be streamed live on thedogs.com.au Facebook page.
