Miley Nismo's blistering first-up Wentworth Park win on Wednesday night - against one of the hottest fifth grade line-ups this year - has put her solidly in the mix for the group 3 New Sensation series.
April 10 heats of the New Sensation, open to greyhounds with no more than 10 wins and who were whelped on or after November, 17, 2016, is looming as a powerful support race to the group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg during next month's WP Easter carnival.
Owned and trained by Nichole MASON and her husband Tony, Miley Nismo took her record to six wins from eight starts with a dazzling all-the-way performance at WP, leaving Richmond Derby finalist Rockstar Beav and Bulli Gold Cup winner Pindari Express in her wake.
Tony MASON, 48, said he and his wife had bought Miley Nismo as a three months old puppy for $2700 from successful breeder Luke Miller.
"Jody Manuel reared the puppy for us and I educated her,'' MASON said.
"I have been involved in the sport for a long while as my father Bert trained the one-time Beaumont Park, Newcastle, record holder Heidi's Hobo, who was by the champion sire of the 1970s Waverly Supreme.
"For several years Nichole and I have been training from a house block but we are now on five acres at Brandy Park in the Hunter Valley and intend trying to establish a good breeding line.
"Miley Nismo's 29.78 time last Wednesday was not a complete surprise to us as she had recorded 30 seconds flat in a trial at WP.
"I am a bit of a revhead and we named her after the American entertainer Miley Cyrus and the Nissan motor racing team which races as Nismo.
"This year, training from our own property, we have had 72 starters for 32 wins so things are going great.
"Miley Nismo has already been tagged as a future brood bitch for us as she is by Barcia Bale while her American dam, Oya Nine Wonwon, was very successful on the track, winning 26 races.
"The New Sensation is obviously Miley Nismo's goal and I think she can go on with it, as apart from her early speed and natural ability, she has a wonderful temperament.
"She had a bad fall at LADBROKES GARDENS on February 15 but even that did not faze her because she bounced back to win at her next start, at Gosford in fast time less than a month later, and then won at Wenty last Wednesday.''

MY Bro's Ethics looms as one of the leading prospects in Wednesday night's heats of the group 3 Ladbrokes Magic Maiden after recording another impressive performance trial at Dapto on Thursday.
My Bro's Ethics, owned and trained by his breeder David Smith, led throughout to win a 520m trial at WP in a slick 30.18 before leading all the way at Dapto, covering the 520m in a nippy 30.31sec.
Just 22 months of age, My Bro's Ethics is by My Bro Fabio from David Smith's outstanding producer Slasher's Ethics.
That brood bitch's daughter Zippy Ethics opened her account at WP last Wednesday with an all-the-way win, while her earlier offspring, Yankee's Ethics, White Sox Ethics, Red Sox Ethics, Infrared Ethics, Dodgin' Ethics and Dinky Di Ethics have so far won 57 races.
White Sox Ethics, the Dapto 724m record holder, could to miss the group 1 Association Cup heats at WP on April 13 due to a minor injury.
The Magic Maiden semi-finals are set down for April 10 with the $25,000 to the winner final on April 20.
Leading trainer John Finn, who won the Magic Maiden final 16 years ago with Winsome Revenge, is likely to have six starters in Wednesday's heats, including up-and-coming youngsters Really Unreal and Blue Summer Sky, who were produced by Chica Destacada, dam of Finn's crack stayer Poco Dorado.
Also trialling well in preparation for the Magic Maiden is Fleur Brann, a 23 months old daughter of Tamworth owner-trainer Tony Atkins' prolific producer Trident Tia.
Fleur Brann had her first test over 520m at WP in a performance trial last week and took the lead going through the catching pen to win clearly in slick 30.12sec.
