UNBEATEN sensation Midnight Dare is expected to wind up her Wentworth Park campaign for next month's group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg by taking her record to five wins from as many starts on Saturday night.
Midnight Dare, who made a gob-smacking Wentworth Park debut to win by 11 lengths in a scorching 29.55sec last Saturday night, will contest the first Golden Easter Egg Prelude, a 520m fourth and fifth grade.
Midnight Dare had box eight last week but moves to box two on Saturday night.
"She pulled up so well after her win last Saturday she could have gone around again on Sunday morning, she was jumping out of her skin,'' trainer David Pringle said.
"The move from box eight to two won't worry Midnight Dare, she is a real little race dog.
"She will run straight and will rail or go around her rivals, nothing fazes her.
"If she wins on Saturday night I intend taking her back to the bush in the lead-up to the Easter Egg heats on April 6.
"I don't like racing them too often at Wentworth Park before they compete in a big race there.''
Cawbourne Marty was a certainty beaten when he went down in a photo finish at Wentworth Park last Saturday and should only need to begin cleanly to win Saturday night's EB Sports Apparel Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.
Last week Cawbourne Marty drew box one but appeared to stumble at the start and was a conspicuous last going past the winning post the first time.
After improving his position to be third on the back straight he flashed home but failed narrowly in his bid to catch the winner Sunburnt City, who proved the form with another impressive victory at Wentworth Park on Wednesday.
"For some reason dogs can bungle the start when they draw box one at Wentworth Park, it doesn't happen anywhere else, only at Wenty,'' trainer JODIE Lord's husband Andy said.
"Cawbourne Marty has a decent sort of motor so hopefully he will get away okay this week.
"JODIE also has Show Buiness, who has won five from 11 at the provincials, in box two, but he should not worry Cawbourne Marty in the run to the first turn.
"Show Business has never seen Wentworth Park before and should run straight from the boxes to the first corner.''
White Sox Ethics has been competing from unsuitable draws against Sydney's best stayers and the shift to box one in Saturday's 720m Duke's Ladbrokes Previews Stakes should put her back into the Wentworth Park winning list.
White Sox Ethics has had just one win and three placings from 11 long-distance races at Wentworth Park yet she holds the track record for the 729m journey at Dapto.
"Box one is a bonus, that's for sure,'' trainer Peter Mantach said.
"For some reason White Sox Ethics is usually giving her rivals 20 lengths start in the early stages of her Wentworth Park races, while at the provincials she is only six lengths behind them early.
"She begins okay but if she gets crowded she doesn't like it and drops right back.''
Although White Sox Ethics has won only once over the Wentworth Park 720m trip, her fastest time at the track, 42.19sec, is quicker than any of her rivals have posted, and she has won three of her six starts wearing the red rug.
