UNDEFEATed boom youngster Midnight Dare should be on the way to securing a berth in next month's heats of the group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg by winning at her Wentworth Park debut on Saturday night.
The David Pringle bred and trained young sensation has box eight in race nine, the 520m Ted's Lounge @ WP Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.
Midnight Dare has won each of three country races, at Coonamble and Bathurst, in dazzling style and has already trialled over the WP 520m trip in a blistering 29.77sec.
"The outside draw should not worry her on Saturday night as I expect Midnight Dare will run in a straight line from the boxes to the first turn,'' Pringle said.
"At least being out there she is more likely to stay out of trouble.
"I wanTed to put her in a Golden Easter Prelude this week but those races were mainly for fourth graders and Midnight Dare is still a fifth grader.
"So if she wins on Saturday night I will nominate her for an Egg Prelude on March 16 to try and clinch a spot in the heats of the big race on April 6.
"I know Midnight Dare is a lot less experienced than most of the dogs she would be racing in the Easter Egg but if they are good enough they are old enough, and she certainly is good enough.
"Midnight Dare is as quick as any greyhound I have raced and she could well be retired to stud by Christmas.''
Pringle's massive opinion of Midnight Dare is high praise indeed as he has owned and bred champions like WP record holder Shakey Jakey, Classic winner Buck Fever, and champion stayer Burn One Down.
Jebrynah, the greyhound who brought veteran Victorian trainer Rocky Crisafi out of retirement, makes his eagerly anticipaTed first Sydney appearance in Saturday night's sixth event, the second Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg Prelude.
Jebrynah, who has won 12 of 18 starts, is considered one of the most exciting young greyhounds in Victoria, and has box three.
Crisafi said: "After being a trainer for over four decades I retired a couple of years ago but then a friend of mine got hold of this brilliant youngster called Jebrynah and asked me to make a comeback to train it for him.
"Jebrynah has never seen Wentworth Park and I have put him in the Prelude to give him experience on the track before the Easter Egg heats next month.
"It has been a long while since I have raced a greyhound at Wentworth Park, but I won the 1995 Wentworth Park Gold Cup with my good stayer Keon Star, who also took out Australia's biggest long-distance race, the Sandown Cup.''
Crisafi has three runners in Saturday's Easter Egg Preludes and will have Blackjack Neo in box eight against Jebrynah and Neo Cleo in box four in the first Prelude.
They are no slouches, with Blackjack Neo having won 19 of 63 races and Neo Cleo winning 29 of 63 appearances.
Nangar Kash, who resumed from a two months spell to win at WP on Wednesday night, will "back up'' in Saturday night's first Easter Egg Prelude and trainer Mick Hardman is quietly confident of another victory.
"Before he won on Wednesday, I slipped Nangar Kash from post-to-post at WP and he went well, recording 24.20sec,'' Hardman said.
"But Wednesday's was his first hit-out over 520m since January 5 and I was concerned he was going to be a bit under-done.
"Although his time was not fast he showed plenty of tenacity to win and I reckon he will be vastly improved by the run.''
