Trainer Mark Gatt had a win with He's All Shine and a third with Vouchers at Wentworth Park on Wednesday night but considers both greyhounds far more suitably drawn at headquarters on Saturday.
Gatt is also upbeat about the chances of Rita's Boy, who chases his 16th Wenty win in the second prelude of the Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg.
Rita's Boy ran down Peter Mosman Classic winner Velocity Liberty to score at his most recent Wentworth Park start on February 16, when he exiTed box two.
"He has been a marvellous dog for us and is ideally drawn in box one on Saturday,'' Gatt said.
"Rita's Boy nearly always bounces back with a win when he drops back in grade after contesting a couple of Free-For-Alls at Wentworth Park.''
On Wednesday night He's All Shine roared home after being a distant third on the back straight to edge out pacemaker Sunburnt City in a handy 30.01sec.
"He's All Shine is going really well but had an awkward draw on Wednesday when he had box six, with a wide runner on his inside,'' Gatt said.
"But he overcame that draw to get up and win and is certainly better placed near the rails in box two on Saturday.''
He's All Shine has been a model of consistency at Wentworth Park, with Wednesday's win taking his record to 12 starts for two wins, five seconds and three thirds.
Vouchers, who has box two in the 520m Ted's Lounge @WP Stakes, a 520m fifth grade, has been placed in two of three Wentworth Park races.
"Vouchers has ability but tends to be a bit clumsy in a field,'' Gatt said.
"She had box four when she finished third to Worby Music and Boxcar Bella on Wednesday so is better positioned in box two on Saturday.
"This looks a winnable race for her.''
A promising line-up of stayers contests Saturday night's 720m Marriage Is Like An Orange Stakes, where established Wentworth Park long-distance performers take on up-and-coming duo Emgrand Park and That's Lil Vicki.
Emgrand Park has not won beyond 535m and is untried at distances of more than 603m but Luke Azzopardi, whose son Peter trains the dog, believes he will develop into a stayer.
"Emgrand Park's litter sister, Mrs Emgrand, which I train, won first-up over 720m at Wentworth Park on January 23 by nine lengths in 42.28, fast time for a newcomer to long-distance racing,'' Azzopardi said.
"Emgrand Park is just as fast and equally as strong as Mrs Emgrand, but he is facing tougher opposition than the lineup she faced at her staying debut.
"Because Saturday's field is strong Emgrand Park will almost certainly need to go straight to the front to have any hope of winning.''
Saturday night's safest bet should be Solar Sky, who has box four in the Ladbrokes Cash Out Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.
Solar Sky has been runner-up in each of two tougher WP races and although she will wear the blue rug her draw is better than it looks on paper and she should get room to move in the run to the first turn.
Box three is vacant while Prince Fabloch, drawn outside Solar Sky in box five, is a wide runner.
