In an immediate response to the increase in injuries and concerns of trainers, GRNSW has worked with the GBOTA and today overseen harrowing of the track. The work undertaken today is expected to resolve the track issues and reduce further injuries to enable racing to continue at Wentworth Park. Scheduled track maintenance, including full renovation of the surface, will go ahead on 20 January 2019.
In light of the remediation works undertaken today, the current racing schedule remains uninterrupted. Scheduled races on Wednesday 14 January 2019 and Saturday 19 January 2019 will proceed as normal.
