Racing to return to Wentworth Park on September 15

GRNSW and NSW GBOTA advises that racing will return to Wentworth Park on Saturday 15th September. Track remediation works are in the final stages of being finalised with completion set for early the week commencing 10th September. This will allow participants the opportunity to trial their greyhound’s at the venue prior to the recommencement of racing on the 15th

 

Trials will be conducted on Tuesday, September 11 from 6pm. Please see the NSW GBOTA website for updated trial information dates and times.

Wednesday 5th September

 Saturday 8th September

 Wednesday 12th September

 Saturday 15th September

  • Wentworth Park resumes racing – programming TBA by the NSW GBOTA and will be live Wednesday.

Importantly, nominations for the Wentworth Park meeting scheduled for Saturday 15th September will close on Wednesday 12th September at 9.00am (not the normal Tuesday), to allow trialling prior to nomination close. This change will only occur for this meeting.

 

GRNSW also wishes to advise the following in relation to the rescheduling of upcoming Group races:

 

In consultation with the NSW GBOTA on how to maximise the group race opportunities, The Chairman’s Cup (Group 3, 720m) and the Sydney Cup (Group 3, 720m) have been merged, and will be conducted in conjunction with the Ladbrokes Million Dollar Chase series. Heats for this event will be conducted on Friday 12th October at Wentworth Park with the event now being worth $75,000 to the winner. The final will be conducted on Saturday 20th October.

 

The Bob Payne Cup (Group 2, 520m) will now be conducted in May 2019 and will be run as a Group 3 event, for dogs only to align with the Ladies Bracelet. Additional details will be provided closer to the race time.
