Modus Operandi can lay claim to being Wentworth Park's most improved greyhound after trouncing Saturday night's Free-For-All lineup at headquarters in the fastest time of the night.
The Robbie Tyler-trained sprinter exploded out of box four and led throughout, winning by just under five lengths in 29.94sec.
Those figures were not only .04sec faster than the card's next best time, recorded by Ninghan Express, but were Modus Operandi's personal best at Wentworth Park.
"He just keeps getting better and better,'' trainer Tyler said after the race.
Saturday's top long-distance race was taken out by Yankee's Ethics, who went into the 720m top grade with three placings but no wins from three Wentworth Park outings.
But on Saturday Yankee Ethics jumped in front from box one and led all the way, holding off a late challenge by King Panda to win by one-and-a-half lengths in 42.58sec.
After the race David Smith, trainer of the winner, said: "Box one made all the difference for Yankee's Ethics tonight.
"At his previous two 720m races at Wentworth Park he has drawn boxes seven and five and on each occasion he veered left when the boxes opened.
"By doing that he was unable to get to the early lead but he did that tonight and that won him the race.''
Blitzing Lass, having only her second start in nearly six months, led throughout to land Saturday night's 520m Ladbrokes Cash Out Final for trainer Jodie Lagogiane.
After the race the greyhound's part-owner Michael Brookes said: "Blitzing Lass had a couple of injuries, including a wrist problem, which kept her sidelined between January and last week's Cash Out heat at Wenty.
"My wife Donna and I bred Blitzing Lass from our bitch Miss Blockbuster, who won 15 short course races for us when trained by John Chapman.''
Odds-on hotpot My Mate Fox gave favourite backers some respite on a night of long-priced winners when he ran down Rachel's Dream to win a 520m fifth grade.
My Mate Fox looked all over a winner when he trailed Rachel's Dream down the back straight but only nailed the pacemaker near the line, scoring by a neck in the average time of 30.41sec.
Peter Barnes, trainer of My Mate Fox, said later: "It took him an eternity to overhaul the pacemaker because my dog did not show the dash down the back straight that he normally does.
"He went like a rocket down the back when he won by a big space in fast time at Bathurst last Monday but was a different dog tonight.
"I'm starting to think My Mate Fox needs to have his races spaced more than five days apart, maybe he needs seven or eight days between runs.''
