Dubbo Friday December 29 meeting time alteration

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises participants that the Dubbo meeting on Friday, December 29 has been moved earlier in the day due to extreme temperatures forecast in the area.

Temperatures at Dubbo are forecast to reach 37°C, and as a result, the first race at Dubbo will now begin at 11:01 am, with kennelling closing at 10:16 am.

Dubbo’s scratching’s will close at 9:00 am Friday morning as normal.

The safety and welfare of greyhounds are of paramount concern for GRNSW in determining whether a race meeting or individual races on a program should proceed, be delayed or abandoned in hot weather conditions.

Decisions to transfer or cancel meetings are made after careful consideration and continual monitoring of the forecast weather conditions with GRNSW also taking into account the predicted temperature for travel times to and from the venue as well as at the track.

Under GRNSW’s Hot Weather Policy, stewards may abandon a race meeting in the event the temperature rises above 38°C or is likely to rise above this temperature.

Clubs must also abandon trials where the temperature rises above 38°C or when the temperature is likely to rise above 38°C.

Participants are encouraged to regularly check the GRNSW website for any race schedule changes due to extreme heat.
