The Gardens Saturday Transferred Due To Heat

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that the Gardens meeting on Saturday has been transferred to a night slot due to extreme temperatures forecast in the Hunter region.

As a result, the first race at the Gardens will now begin at 7.17pm, with kennelling closing at 6.32pm.

The safety and welfare of greyhounds is of paramount concern for GRNSW in determining whether a race meeting or individual races on a program should proceed, be delayed or abandoned in Hot weather conditions.

Decisions to transfer or cancel meetings are made after careful consideration and continual monitoring of the forecast weather conditions with GRNSW also taking into account the predicted temperature for travel times to and from the venue as well as at the track.

Under GRNSW’s Hot Weather Policy, stewards may abandon a race meeting in the event the temperature rises above 38°C or is likely to rise above this temperature.

Clubs must also abandon trials where the temperature rises above 38°C or when the temperature is likely to rise above 38°C.

Participants are encouraged to regularly check the GRNSW website for any race schedule changes due to extreme heat.
