Decision - Morgan Fenwick-Benjes

On 24 May 2017 the GRNSW Inquiry Panel charged trainer Mr Morgan Fenwick-Benjes under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Morgan Fenwick-Benjes, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Universal Girl’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race one at The Gardens on 4 February 2017 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

That you, Morgan Fenwick-Benjes, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Submarine’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race four at The Gardens on 4 February 2017 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance detected in both samples was theobromine. 

Following Mr Fenwick-Benjes’ admission to the Charges and consideration of the relevant subjective factors, the Inquiry Panel determined to impose a period of disqualification of 42 weeks commencing on 12 October 2017.
