Eberand Hoping Luck Rubs Off On Ebby Ripper

Ebby Ripper will be attempting to outdo her mother Ebby Miss when she contests Friday night's final of the Group 1 Bold Trease (715m) at Sandown.

Owned and trained by Sydney based Michael Eberand, Ebby Ripper came from last to win her heat last Friday night, careering away near the finish line.

She will line-up against the champion stayer Fanta Bale in Friday’s feature event.

“Her time was second fastest of the heats and was only a length slower than the figures posted by the champion stayer Fanta Bale,” Eberand said.

“And Ebby Ripper was checked off the heels of other greyhounds on the home turn. I believe she is only just reaching her peak as a stayer because I started her off as a long distance greyhound quite early in her career.

“Her mother Ebby Miss was a finalist in the 2011 Bold Trease and for qualifying she received a specially engraved collar.

Ebby Ripper will be wearing that collar on Friday so hopefully it will bring us some luck.”
