Striker Light Striving For The Double

By Jeff Collerson

Striker Light will become the first greyhound to win the Golden Easter Egg/Top Gun double if she wins Saturday night's $150,000 to the winner Group 1 Top Gun at The Meadows on Saturday night.

Striker Light, a daughter of the American sire Kc And All, took out the Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park in April and has since gone on to win a range of races in Victoria and South Australia.

If she is successful in Saturday's Top Gun will take her prizemoney tally past $500,000.

The Top Gun has a sensational line-up of greyhounds taking part.

Ando's Mac will jump from box one in the feature event.

While the greyhound may be trained in Victoria by former Sydneysider Anthony Azzopardi, the greyhound will have a massive NSW cheer squad trackside for the race.

Ando's Mac is raced by the Anderson family, from the NSW central coast. A win will boost Ando's Mac's earnings to $822,000 as he has already earned more than $672,000 through winning 27 of his 55 races.

Mister Twister, the only NSW-trained greyhound in the Top Gun, has drawn poorly in box eight.

Box draw is: 1. Ando's Mac 2. Aston Dee Bee 3. Striker Light 4. Raw Ability 5. Aqua Cheetah 6. Lightning Frank 7. Up Hill Jill and 8. Mister Twister.
