Perseverance paid off for hobby trainer Mark Tailby when Chase The Dream, who had been placed in four of six previous Wentworth Park starts, broke through for her first city win last Saturday night.
Chase The Dream, who had made the pace or been up near the early lead in four previous Wentworth Park races, led throughout to win comfortably.
Central Coast-based Tailby, a Woolworths employee, has been training greyhounds for relaxation for two years.
"I bought Chase The Dream from Cowra breeder Richard Griffiths as a six months old puppy for $1000 and she has now earned just on $13,000 in prizemoney,'' Tailby said.
"Before Saturday's win she had run into some outstanding greyhounds and had Chased home Lochinvar Hugo, who in my opinion s a future superstar.
"I knew Chase The Dream would pick up a city race soon and I expect her to win another one or two at Wentworth Park.''

Australia's biggest country carnival is held each October weekend at Coonamble and this year's Non-TAB extravaganza has attracted well over 700 entries.
Coonamble organiser Kevin Gordon said: "We expect to run 14 races at six sessions on each of the Friday, Saturday and Monday morning and afternoon meetings.''
The Coonamble track has recently undergone re-surfacing and renovation while this year's carnival has been boosted by news that wagering giant Ladbrokes would again be the major sponsor.
Each of the town's seven hotels and motels are expected to be filled to capacity this weekend.

Yass trainer Neil Staines will be hoping for better luck getting to Wentworth Park on Wednesday than he did last Saturday when a bushfire prevented him reaching the track.
Staines was forced to scratch his four entries, Mitra, By Golly Wally, Bogan Doonie and My Country, when the massive fire forced the closure of the Hume Highway from 12.30 to 7pm on Saturday.
Wagga trainer Peter Sims was also unable to arrive at Wentworth Park and his three entries also had to be withdrawn.
"I was halfway between home and Goulburn when my daughter heard about the fire and called me,'' Staines said.
"I phoned the Goulburn fire brigade and they advised me to turn around, so I called Peter Sims, who I knew was on his way to Sydney, and told him what had happened.
"Bogan Doonie looked a really good chance of winning for me so I will be nominating her for Wentworth Park on Wednesday night.''

Champion sprinter Falcon's Fury has trialled satisfactorily over 327m at Cowra at his first hit-out since being sidelined with injury.
"He clocked a bit over 18.60 and Paul and I was happy with that,'' trainer Paul Braddon's wife Pam said.
"Falcon's Fury will have a couple more trials before he is ready to resume racing.''
Trial clockers at Cowra were unanimous in declaring that the gallop, which compared well with Layla Swift's 18.35 record, indicated Falcon's Fury is set to come back as good as ever.
