Decision - Michael Bamback

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 25 August 2017 the Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) Inquiry Panel charged trainer Mr Michael Bamback under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Michael Bamback, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Kyra Miss’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race five at Wentworth Park on 13 May 2017 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was caffeine and its metabolites theophylline, paraxathine and theobromine.

Following Mr Bamback’s early admission to the charge and consideration of the mitigating factors, the GRNSW Inquiry Panel has determined to impose a period of suspension of 14 weeks.
