Decision - David Horton

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 15 August 2017 the Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) Inquiry Panel charged trainer Mr David Horton under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, David Horton, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Mungindi Rose’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race 10 at The Gardens on 22 April 2017 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was caffeine and its metabolites theophylline, paraxathine and theobromine.

Following Mr Horton’s early admission to the charge and consideration of the mitigating factors, the GRNSW Inquiry Panel has determined to impose a period of suspension of 12 weeks.
