Mister Twister Unstoppable In Black Top

By thedogs.com.au

A superb run from start to finish from Mister Twister gave the Jason Mackay-trained greyhound his second group win when he took out the Group 2 Sires On Ice Black Top at LADBROKES GARDENS on Friday night.

Starting from box six, Mister Twister (pictured) began brilliantly leading the field through the first turn, recording a first sectional of 4.93 in the process. The son of Collision and Double Twist then had to fight off a strong challenge from Aqua Cheetah before winning by a length in 29.44.

Aqua Cheetah, one of two runners in the race for Seona Thompson, finished second with outsider Lord Jack in third.

The favourite for the race – Aston Bolero – did not overcome a poor start and following some interference finished eighth.

For Mister Twister, the win was his second group victory having won the Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic at Wentworth Park in June. Couple those two wins with the greyhound’s victory in the lucrative Richmond Riches and Mister Twister has now taken his prizemoney total past $310,000.

The win also extended Mister Twister’s unbeaten record at LADBROKES GARDENS to five starts, and was the 18th of his career.

A start in Saturday’s Bob Payne Spring Spring heats at Wentworth Park is likely to now be on the cards for Mister Twister.
