Mister Twister Sets Pace In Black Top Heats

Mister Twister made it five from five at LADBROKES GARDENS when he clocked the fastest time in Friday's seven heats of the Group 2 Sires On Ice Black Top.

The Jason MACKAY-trained greyhound came from behind to win in 29.53, which was 0.29 outside his personal best for the 515m there.

Mister Twister's kennelmate Riley Tokaam ran wide and collided from box one but still managed to win in second quickest time of 29.73, with the amazing Aston Bolero scoring his 53rd win in 90 starts in 29.78.

The box draw for next Friday’s final has made for an intriguing race with Mister Twister drawing box six, Riley Tokaam box four and Aston Bolero to jump from box two.

“From box two I think Aston Bolero will definitely be the early leader in the final,” MACKAY said.

Mister Twister has box six and Riley Tokaam box four in the final so how they fare depend on what sort of runs they get.”

MACKAY also qualified with Zipping Chang in 29.78 but he goes from a suitable inside draw to box eight in the final.

“I'm not too sure how he will go from out there as far as getting a clear passage is concerned,” MACKAY summed up.

Other heat winners were Aqua Cheetah (29.81), Two Jay (29.84) and Kyra Miss (29.98).

Box draw for the Group 2 Sires On Ice Black Top, which will take place next Friday night, is: 1. Aqua Cheetah 2. Aston Bolero 3. Lord Jack 4. Riley Tokaam 5. Kyra Miss 6. Mister Twister 7. Two Jay 8. Zipping Chang. Reserves: 9. Royal Turbo 10. Barking Bad.
