Rambo Banner Drawn To Win At Maitland

By Stuart Turner

An ideal box draw has trainer Luke Adams confident his greyhound Rambo Banner can score another win at Maitland this afternoon.

Rambo Banner jumps from box two in the 4th grade PRD Nationwide Stakes (race seven, 450m) aiming to continue his solid recent form.

Rambo Banner made it three victories in his last four starts with a super 22.43 victory from the same box over the 400m at Bulli last Saturday night.

He has won four of his nine previous visits to Maitland and looks ideally suited to the big Hunter Valley track.

“These high-speed tracks (like Maitland) really suit him with the usual brilliant speed he shows,” Adams, who is located in the Sydney suburb of Tregear, said.

“He’s now won four out of five from this box so the draw obviously suits him. The 450 metres is about as far as he can go so he can handle the distance.

“He’s a brilliant greyhound to train and he’s been racing superbly recently.”

In other Maitland Thursday action today, unbeaten greyhound Truly Dominant can continue his good start to his racing career with another victory in the 5th grade Lochinvar Pet Motel Stakes (race six, 400m).

The Mark Davidson-trained greyhound is shooting for the hat-trick after two impressive victories over the 400m at LADBROKES GARDENS and Maitland.

Knock Wave is resuming after a month-long spell but can score a victory in the 4/5th grade Commercial Painting Group Stakes (race eight, 400m).

The Darren Sultana-trained greyhound is having a first look at Maitland but is a consistent performer with six wins and 15 minor placings from 28 starts.

Rip Masters is another greyhound in terrific current form and can win the 5th grade PPK Group Stakes (race nine, 450m).

The Chrystal Hensing-trained greyhound has won his last two starts and looks ideally positioned in box one to seal the hat-trick.
