Rambo Banner A Blockbuster Chance For Bulli

By Stuart Turner

Bulli track specialist Rambo Banner returns to the Illawarra track on Saturday night, aiming for a 12th career win.

The Luke Adams-trained greyhound jumps from box two in the 4/5th grade Ladbrokes Stakes (race seven, 400m) having won two and placed at three of his previous five starts at Bulli.

Rambo Banner comes into Saturday night’s race following a win over the 350m last start at Goulburn.

Speaking to thedogs.com.au, Adams is “confident” his greyhound can continue his good record at Bulli.

“He dwelt a little on his last start but I think he will ping the lids this time,” Adams said.

“I think the high-speed tracks like Maitland and Bulli suit him, especially when he shows his normal good early dash. This distance is about perfect for him too – the 450 is about as far as he can go.

“He pulled up well from his last run and is looking good.”

Rambo Danger’s biggest danger looks like File the Writ, a 19-race winner who saluted over this trip two starts back.

“With Rambo Banner’s record from box two, he should be able to get to the front from this box,” Adams said.

“His speed is his best asset and he should come out well. File The Writ in box five who is a quality greyhound and is the one to beat, but I’m fairly confident mine can win.”

In other Bulli action, promising newcomer Pawfessional looks a strong winning chance in the 5th grade Ladbrokes Odds Boost Stakes (race three, 400m).

The son of champion Paw Licking and Taurina Belle has won three of his four starts so far, including a smart 22.74 victory over this trip last week.

Body And Soul is a reliable performer for local trainer Ruth Matic and can win the 4/5th grade Bulli Trials Tuesday-Thursday Stakes (race six, 515m).

The veteran scored his 14th career victory over the 440m at Goulburn two starts back and can salute again from the rails draw in this company.

Forty Twenty Two returned to winning ways with a victory over the 365m at Nowra last week and can repeat that feat in the 5th grade Ladbrokes Odds 1-2 Wins Stakes (race nine, 472m).

The Bill Turnbull-trained greyhound (box one) has placed three times in four previous attempts over this trip but can take advantage of the gun draw in this company.
