Exultant Looking A Resounding Richmond Prospect

By Stuart Turner

Windsor trainer Andrew Crouch looks set to land a training double at Richmond tonight, with in-form littermates Big Butters and Exultant.

Big Butters lines up in the 4/5th grade Magic Sprite @Stud Stakes (race seven, 535m), having won her last three starts, while Exultant is shooting for a hat-trick of his own in the non-graded Globe Memorial Company Stakes (race eight, 535m).

Crouch believes both greyhounds – who are by Spring Gun and Dashandy Black – can both win again this evening.

“I’m quietly confident they can both win,” Crouch said.

“Box four isn’t a problem for Big Butters because she’s jumping so good at the moment. We gave her a jump out this week again and she came out really well. This is a big test for her but she’s racing fantastically well. She had that good run at Richmond previously and I think she can win.”

Big Butters faces some strong opposition which includes exciting prospect He Can Yodel, but on current form can score another win.

Exultant has won three of his four previous visits to Richmond and clocked a smart 30.79 while winning over this trip on June 28.

He has gone winless in two previous starts from box six but Crouch thinks punters should not be put off by that record.

“With Richmond being such a big track, I think box six won’t hurt his chances,” he said.

“When he was younger he used to head to the fence he jumped, but now he’s jumping straight.

“When he won at Wentworth Park recently, a couple of big name trainers said, ‘he could go a long way’. It was great to hear.

“They’re both racing fantastically and I think they can win.”

Panther Paving looks the top pick in the 5th grade Angosturra LLB 1-2 Wins Final (race six, 535m).

The Emmanuel Borg-trained greyhound finished second in last week’s heats at her first look at the 535m and should be stronger for that run.

She won well over the 515m at LADBROKES GARDENS from box six recently and can handle the wide draw.

True Dream has been a good recent performer for owner-trainer Ray Welch and can win a quality race two – a 5th grade over 400m.

The daughter of Oaks Road and Hardaway Shiraz has won four of her last five starts, including a smart 22.69 victory over this trip last week in tough company and can handle the tricky box draw.
