On 8 June 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Charlie Finianos under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Charlie Finianos, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Jiggly Legs’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race three at Nowra on 13 February 2017 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substances were morphine and codeine.
Following Mr Finianos’ early admission to the charge, the GRNSW Inquiry Panel have determined to impose a period of suspension of 15 weeks.
