Tamaar Tux Looks A Smart Wentworth Park Chance

By Jeff Collerson

Tamaar Tux should only need a clear run from box seven in order to open his Wentworth Park account in tonight's 520m Ladbrokes Odds Boost Stakes (race four) at headquarters.

The son of Lochinvar Marlow and Oxley Falcon was desperately unlucky when fourth behind Marilena Franco at Wentworth Park on June 21 before flashing home to finish third, beaten less than a length, over 400m at Richmond last Friday.

Mack Tux, who won a heat and semi-final of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park early in April, won the Richmond race.

But Tamaar Tux gave his illustrious kennelmate a big start at the half-way mark and trainer Bruce King has confirmed there is little between the pair.

"If I trial them together, Mack Tux would make the pace but Tamaar Tux would finish all over him.

"There is never more than a length between them.''

Considering Mack Tux is a top grader and Golden Easter Egg finalist that assessment makes Taamar Tux look hard to beat in tonight's fifth class event.

While Tamaar Tux may be better suited drawn closer to the rails, he has managed to win three of his seven races out of box seven.

"When Taamar Tux was sent to me from WA he was accustomed to big tracks," King said. "While the belief was that he struggled to run more than 400m he can now trial a fast 22.60 every time I put him over that trip at Richmond and he is strong at the end of 520 metres.''

Tonight's best bet should be Paddy's Magic, who has box two in thedogs.com.au Stakes, a 520m fourth grade.

"Paddy's Magic should burn to the front approaching the first turn because this race represents a big drop in class for him,'' trainer Jason MACKAY said.

Paddy's Magic has won his past two starts at Maitland and at his most recent Wentworth Park outing he was opposed to top grade opposition.

MACKAY could land a winning double with Riley Tokaam, who flashed home when beaten a head in top grade at Wentworth Park on Saturday night, having box one in the wentworthpark.com.au Stakes fifth grade 520m.

"Riley Tokaam slipped post to post at The Gardens in 24.20sec and ran home in 11.85  before Saturday's Wenty race and that is exceptional,'' MACKAY said.

"From box one tonight he will want to push wide at the first turn but should run in a straight line from boxes until he gets to the bend.''

Ezy Mover, who set the pace before finishing second over 600m at The Gardens last Friday, looks good value from box five in the 520m ladbrokes.com.au Stakes, a fifth grade event.

The Ian Darcey-trained greyhound has been placed at Wentworth Park and punters should forget his seventh at his most recent appearance at headquarters on June 7.

Ezy Mover lost all chance when badly checked in the early stages but had won over 515m at The Gardens in a slick 29.75 at his previous start.

Prancing Tiger's best Wentworth Park form is from wide draws but the Scott Tyson-trained greyhound should be hard to beat in Wednesday's Ladbrokes Info Hub Stakes, a 520m fourth and fifth grade.

She won in  a fast 30 seconds from box eight at Wentworth Park on April 26 but produced an outstanding performance to beat all but Little Cindy at the same track last Wednesday night.
