Decision - Carly Absalom

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Ms Carly Absalom under rule 86(ag) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows: 

- That you, Carly Absalom, a registered trainer, failed to comply with the Race Day Hydration and Hot Weather Policy when you kennelled the greyhound ‘Celestial Folk’ at the Wentworth Park greyhound meeting on 1 April 2017 by failing to provide water to the greyhound in accordance with the policy.

- That you, Carly Absalom, a registered trainer, failed to comply with the Race Day Hydration and Hot Weather Policy when you kennelled the greyhound ‘Celestial Folk’ at the Wentworth Park greyhound meeting on 31 May 2017 by failing to provide water to the greyhound in accordance with the policy.

- That you, Carly Absalom, a registered trainer, failed to comply with the Race Day Hydration and Hot Weather Policy when you kennelled the greyhound ‘Celestial Folk’ at the Wentworth Park greyhound meeting on 7 June 2017 by failing to provide water to the greyhound in accordance with the policy.

- That you, Carly Absalom, a registered trainer, failed to comply with the Race Day Hydration and Hot Weather Policy when you kennelled the greyhound ‘Celestial Folk’ at the Wentworth Park greyhound meeting on 14 June 2017 by failing to provide water to the greyhound in accordance with the policy.

- That you, Carly Absalom, a registered trainer, failed to comply with the Race Day Hydration and Hot Weather Policy when you kennelled the greyhound ‘Celestial Folk’ at the Wentworth Park greyhound meeting on 24 June 2017 by failing to provide water to the greyhound in accordance with the policy.

During an inquiry on 26 June 2017, the Stewards found that the charges were proven and determined to impose a period of 16 weeks suspension, wholly suspended on the condition that Ms Absalom complies with the Race Day Hydration and Hot Weather Policy and the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules for a period of 12 months.
