Decision - Dapto A & H Greyhound Racing Club

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 9 May 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW charged Dapto A & H Greyhound Racing Club under rule 86(o) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Dapto A & H Greyhound Racing Club, has, in relation to greyhound racing, done a thing, or omitted to do a thing, which, in the opinion of the Stewards or Controlling Body, as the case may be, is negligent, by allowing an ineligible greyhound, ‘Topper Swaye’ to compete in the 2016 Dapto Puppy Classic.

On 6 June 2017 the Dapto A & H Greyhound Racing Club entered a plea of not guilty to the charge while providing submissions for the Stewards to consider.

The Stewards considered the submissions and the evidence before the inquiry. The Stewards determined that the Dapto A & H Greyhound Racing Club was guilty of the charge and determined to impose a fine of $1500.

The Stewards also determined to disqualify the greyhound, Topper Swaye from the Dapto Puppy Classic Series under Rule 64 (1). The Stewards have directed that Ms Fran Harris repay the combined prizemoney accrued from the heat and semi final.
