Decision - Paul Shepherd

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 18 May 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Paul Shepherd under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Paul Shepherd, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Rails’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race two at Taree on 18 February 2017 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was cobalt.

Following Mr Shepherd’s early guilty plea to the charge and consideration of the mitigating factors, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of suspension of 21 weeks.

Mr Shepherd has been notified of his rights of appeal.
