Up Hill Jill Headlines Peter Mosman Heats

Up Hill Jill will be sent out the favourite for the Group 1 Ladbrokes Peter Mosman Classic series, despite drawing awkwardly in her heat at Wentworth Park this Saturday night.

The David Geall-trained greyhound will jump from box five in heat four (race four, 520m) and is currently $7 favourite in the Ladbrokes all-in market to win the series.

Up Hill Jill (pictured), who finished second in the National Futurity and was a finalist in this year's Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg, prepared for Saturday's heat with a second placing at Sandown last week.

That placing took Up Hill Jill's tally to 17 wins and 12 seconds from 38 starts.

Win, lose or draw in the Peter Mosman series, Geall said he is likely to spell Up Hill Jill.

"When she drew alongside the pacemaker on the back straight at Sandown I thought she would win so I was a little disappointed with her run," Geall said.

"She has been racing almost once a week for the past eight months and while she loves racing and is always keen to go when we get to the track, she deserves a rest. So I am freshening her right up this week for Saturday night's Peter Mosman heats and after this series is finished Up Hill Jill can enjoy a well deserved break."

Mister Twister, last week's Richmond Riches winner, has drawn box seven in the fifth heat (race five) of the Peter Mosman Classic series, and is $10 in the all-in market.

The Jason Mackay-trained greyhound has yet to win from box seven, but looks the class greyhound in his heat.

Of the other contenders, Aston Dee Bee ($9) has drawn box two in heat three (race three) while Falcon's Fury ($12) has the same draw in heat seven (race eight).

Chevy King ($12), meanwhile, has probably been the biggest winner from the box draw, coming up with box one. The Christine Proctor-trained greyhound is undefeated in three starts wearing the red rug.

There are eight heats of the Peter Mosman Classic in total, with the top four from each race qualifying for next week's semi final.

The $75,000 Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic final will be held on June 16.
