CASH Explosion will be aiming to get the better of Mitcharlie Mia for a second week in a row when he lines up in this evening’s Casino RSM Beef Week Cup (race eight, 484m).
Trained by Dean Turley, CASH Explosion surprised many when he got the better of Mitcharlie Mia, defeating the former Richmond Oaks winner by a length in 28.23.
CASH Explosion will jump from box seven in this evening’s feature, and if he can repeat the start he made in his heat, the greyhound will be very hard to hold out.
Mitcharlie Mia, however, can never be discounted, with the Mitch Northfield-trained greyhound tuning up for the Beef Week Cup with a win at Grafton over the 480m at Grafton.
Mitcharlie Mia (pictured) has box five for this evening’s cup, a draw in which she has a good record, having won six times and placed three times from 12 starts wearing the yellow rug.
Other contenders include Kingsbrae Missy, who finished second in her heat, but is well drawn in box eight.
Kooringa Addison (box two) cannot be discounted after her surprise 28.90 heat win at odds of 50/1, however, that greyhound’s colours were lowered somewhat when she only finished seventh at Casino on Tuesday.
Pawlee (box one), Terra Torra (box three), Pee Cripps (box four) and Cosmic Wants Too (box eight) round out the field in the Beef Week Cup, in which $5000 awaits the winner.
Today’s Casino meeting will be held in a special twilight slot with first race at 3.27pm and the Beef Week Cup due to jump at 6.08pm.
