Decision - William Sharpe

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 4 May 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr William Sharpe under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, William Sharpe, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Range Hawke’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in a clearance trial at Grafton on 19 December 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was cobalt.

Following Mr Sharpe’s early guilty plea to the charge and consideration of the mitigating factors, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of suspension of 15 weeks.

A copy of the decision of GRNSW can be found here.

Mr Sharpe has lodged an appeal of this decision.
