Decision - Julius Perrett

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 8 March 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Julius Perrett under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Julius Perrett, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Lauren Leigh’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race six at Tweed Heads on 12 November 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was pentobarbitone.

During an inquiry on 19 May 2017, Mr Perrett was found guilty of the charge.

GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $3000 with $1500 suspended conditional on no further breaches of the prohibited substance rules for a period of 12 months.

Mr Perrett has been notified of his rights of appeal.
