Mitcharlie Mia Turns Back The Clock

By thedogs.com.au

Mitcharlie Mia returns to where it all began at Casino on Friday afternoon when she lines up in a heat of the Casino RSM Beef Week Cup (484m).

The winner of 29 starts - including the Group 2 Richmond Oaks and more than $100,000 in prizemoney - won her first race start at Casino almost two years to the day and returns to the circle track in a bid for more feature race success.

The Mitchell Northfield-trained greyhound will jump from box one in the second heat of the cup (race six), which is one of the biggest annual races in the Northern Rivers.

Mitcharlie Mia (pictured) tuned up for Friday's assignment with a good win at Casino last week and looks a strong chance of qualifying for next week's cup final given the good draw.

It could be a big afternoon for Mitcharlie Mia's trainer Mitchell Northfield with the Dobies Bight-based mentor also entering Kooringa Ayla in heat three (race nine) of the Beef Week Cup.

Kooringa Ayla has been mixing her form of late, but looks well placed drawn in box eight and should be qualifying into next week's final.

Of the other heats, John Said This for Patrick Lavis looks the best chance at value in heat one (race five), while Terra Torra for Ryan Newstead looks a winning chance in heat four (race 10).

The classy Nangar Thunder, drawn in box three looks like only bad luck will stop him from taking out the fifth and final heat for Dave Irwin.

The winners of each heat plus the three fastest runners-up will qualify for next week's Casino RSM Beef Week Cup where $5000 awaits the winner.
