On 8 December 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr CHRIS O’Brien under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, CHRIS O’Brien, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Bulkender’ presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race eight at Nowra on 3 October 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substance was meloxicam.
During an inquiry on 15 May 2017, Mr O’Brien was found guilty of the charge. The Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $750.
