On 7 March 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Robert Manowski under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Robert Manowski, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Natural Swiper’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race five at Dapto on 20 October 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substance was caffeine and its metabolites paraxanthine, theobromine and theophylline.
Following Mr Manowski’s early guilty plea to the charge and consideration of the mitigating factors, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of suspension of 18 weeks.
