Decision - Kenneth Barnden

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 5 October 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Kenneth Barnden under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Kenneth Barnden, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Ellie Mae’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race nine at The Gardens on 4 June 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substances in this instance were morphine and codeine.

Mr Barnden failed to respond to the charge.

After considering all the evidence before the inquiry, GRNSW Stewards found Mr Barnden guilty of the charge and determined to impose a period of disqualification of 18 weeks.

Mr Barnden has been notified of his rights of appeal.
