Decision - Kenneth Burnett

On 27 April 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) Stewards held an inquiry into the following charges against trainer Mr Kenneth Burnett under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules:

- That you, Kenneth Burnett, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Targaryen’ at Wentworth Park on 6 June 2015, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race nine in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance (charge one).

- That you, Kenneth Burnett, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Double Trigger’ at Wentworth Park on 6 January 2016, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race one in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance (charge two).

- That you, Kenneth Burnett, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Double Trigger’ at Wentworth Park on 24 February 2016, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race three in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance (charge three).

In relation to charge one, Mr Burnett entered a plea of guilty and the GRNSW Stewards determined to impose a fine of $2000.  

In relation to charges two and three, Mr Burnett entered pleas of not guilty. 

Following the consideration of all the evidence before the inquiry, GRNSW Stewards found Mr Burnett guilty of the charges and imposed a period of 20 weeks suspension for each charge (to be served concurrently).
