Explosive Brown’s love affair with Dapto can continue with another victory at the Illawarra track tonight.
The daughter of Cosmic Rumble and Explosive Ebony, trained by Ron Alcock at Belimbla Park in NSW’s Macarthur region, jumps from box two in the night’s fifth race over the 520m aiming to continue her hugely impressive recent form.
After going winless in her first three starts, Explosive Brown has scored three successive victories – all at Dapto over the 520m.
She scored a smart 30.07 victory at Dapto two starts back and looks well drawn to score win number four tonight.
“I don’t bet myself but I’d say she has a chance,” Alcock said.
“I don’t think there’s anything special about Dapto and her – she’s just a pretty quick greyhound who run hard anywhere.
“She had no luck at the start of her career but she’s shown me what she can do. I’m delighted with her.
“My big worry is ROXY Twist in box three - she’s run good times at Dapto and looks to have real ability. It’s going to be hard but I think mine can win.”
Alcock also looks to have a decent chance with Belivet (box one) in the night’s seventh race over the 520m.
The daughter of Fabregas and Apology won at Nowra three starts back and had no luck at Dapto last week, being hampered after showing pace early.
"That was a shame as she jumped well and was looking good," Alcock said.
"This draw should again help her and she's got ability. I'd say she's a decent chance."
Belivet placed in her only previous start from box one and ran a decent 30.32 while winning from box two at Dapto in March.
Others to watch at Dapto include in-form duo Red Sox Ethics (race three, box two) and Tijuana Icon (race 11, box four).
Dip Deep Billy (box four) looks a decent value chance jumping from box four in the night’s eighth race over the 520m.
The Les Deguara-trained greyhound has not won in eight previous attempts wearing the blue rug but saluted over this trip two starts back and ran solidly last week in strong company at Wentworth Park.
