On 9 February 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Dean Swain under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Dean Swain, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Miss Foxy Lee’ presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race four at Wentworth Park on 10 September 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substance was meloxicam.
During an inquiry on 10 April 2017, Mr Swain entered a plea of guilty to the charge. The Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $2,000.
