Decision - Morgan Fenwick-Benjes

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 16 March 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Morgan Fenwick-Benjes under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Morgan Fenwick-Benjes, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Arlo MArlo’ presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race one at The Gardens on 23 December 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substances were cocaine, benzoylecgonine and ecognine methyl ester.

Following Mr Fenwick-Benjes’ early guilty plea and consideration of all the circumstances, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of disqualification of 12 months.

Mr Fenwick-Benjes has been notified of his rights of appeal.
