Decision - Fiona Geary

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 8 August 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Ms Fiona Geary under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Fiona Geary, a registered public trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Gundal Commando’  at Lismore on 29 December 2015, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race 4 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was cobalt.

Following Ms Geary’s early guilty plea to the charge and consideration of the factors, GRNSW Stewards determined to impose a period of suspension of 12 weeks.

Ms Geary has been notified of her rights of appeal.
