On 8 March 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Rodney Morley under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Rodney Morley, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Bambi On Ice’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race four at Wentworth Park on 19 November 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substance was caffeine and its metabolites theophylline, paraxthine and theobromine.
Following Mr Morley’s early guilty plea to the charge and consideration of the mitigating factors, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of suspension of 14 weeks.
