Howson Issued With Interim Suspension

By Greyhound Racing NSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has received confirmation of the presence of amphetamine in the urine sample taken from the greyhound 'Lover's Loch' after it competed in race two at Gosford on 27 December 2016.

John Howson, the licensed trainer who presented Lover's Loch for the event, has been advised of the confirmation.

Due to the nature of the prohibited substance detected, which is a category 2 substance under the GRNSW Penalty System, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose an interim suspension of Mr Howson's trainer licence, in accordance with Gar 92(5), pending the outcome of an inquiry.
