On 18 October 2016 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Stuart Barron under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Stuart Barron, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Starburst Bill’ presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race two at Richmond on 6 January 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was 6alpha-hydroxystanozolol.  

During an inquiry on 21 February 2017, Mr Barron was found guilty of the charge. 

GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of disqualification of five months.
