Appeal - Rex Jones

By Greyhound Racing NSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that the Racing Appeals Tribunal has announced its decision on the appeal by trainer Rex Jones against a penalty imposed by GRNSW stewards for a breach of Gar 83 (2).

Mr Jones appealed against the decision of GRNSW Stewards to impose a disqualification of 60 weeks after he presented the greyhound Cosmic Topper to compete in race three at Gosford on 24 May 2016 other than free of any prohibited substance in that the urine sample taken from the greyhound after the race was found on confirmatory analysis to contain ostarine.

The tribunal upheld the severity appeal and amended the disqualification period to 12 months to commence on 30 November 2016.
