On 10 February 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Ms Leone North under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, Leone North, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Tee Kay’ presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race two at Grafton on 31 October 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substances were lignocaine and 3-hydroxylignocaine.
Following Ms North’s early guilty plea to the charge and consideration of the mitigating factors, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a period of suspension of nine weeks.
