Decision - Maxwell McGovern

By Greyhound Racing NSW

On 10 February 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr Maxwell McGovern under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:

That you, Maxwell McGovern, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Miss Capone’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race six at Temora on 12 November 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.

The prohibited substance was arsenic.

Following Mr McGovern's early guilty plea to the charge, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $750.
