Tiny Terror Aiming To Strike At Maitland

By Stuart Turner

Hot newcomer Tiny Terror looks among the ones to watch in today’s high-quality Maitland Supporters Club Gold Collar (400m) heats.

The in-form daughter of Spring Gun and Pretzel jumps from box eight in the second of six heats aiming for a fourth win in her last five starts.

Tiny Terror scored her latest victory at Maitland two weeks ago, clocking a smart 22.23 triumph from box one.

She also scored a terrific 22.21 triumph over the 400m jumping from box eight and the pink rug holds no fears for western Sydney owner-trainer Cheryl Betts.

“She should be okay from there,” Betts said. “We weren’t sure how she would cope with box eight three weeks ago but in the event she ran superbly.

“Hopefully she can steer clear of them here and then push on.

“I’m a bit worried about Wild Walter in box four who was right her at Maitland two weeks ago and looks to be a really handy greyhound.

“(But) mine has a big heart for such a little greyhound and we’re so excited with how she’s going.”

Tiny Terror has scored four wins and three minor placings from nine starts so far, with all four victories coming over this trip.

Wild Walter was only a length behind her last start, while Mousey Mccoy (box one) disappointed at Richmond last start but has quality and also looks dangerous.

Sweetwater Boy (box one) has a terrific record  at Maitland and looks the top pick in the first heat.

The Mark Wilcox-trained greyhound is resuming after more than two months out  but has won four of his six previous visits to Maitland and looks well positioned to score a 15th career victory.

Others to watch at Maitland include Aston Ebert (box two, heat three), Sandave Prince (box seven, heat four) and Shamunska (box eight, heat five).

Your Shout Punk (box one) was run down at Bulli last Saturday but looks the best bet in the sixth heat.

The speedy son of Spring Gun and Punk Angel, trained by gun western Sydney mentor Mark Gatt, can show devastating early pace and has raced well recently against elite company in Melbourne.
