On 31 January 2017 Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) charged trainer Mr William Schwencke under rule 83(2) of the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules as follows:
That you, William Schwencke, a registered trainer, while in charge of the greyhound ‘Benden Burst’, presented the greyhound for the purpose of competing in race nine at Goulburn on 22 November 2016 in circumstances where the greyhound was not free of any prohibited substance.
The prohibited substance was arsenic.
Following Mr Schwencke’s early guilty plea to the charge, GRNSW Stewards have determined to impose a fine of $750.
